New municipal park will be built at the Chacha Tower site

Batumi Municipality City Council has approved the concept of development of the municipal park, presented by LLC Batumi Riviera. Design works are currently in progress, expected to be completed by the end of August.

While the existing trees will be preserved at the site, the new park will boast many new tree species, shrubs, and ornamental plants. Residents of Batumi and park visitors will enjoy amenities such as two padel courts, a sports field, children’s playgrounds, recreation areas, and walking and cycling paths. The park will seamlessly integrate into the city’s green coastal strip as a natural extension of the Batumi Boulevard.

“For the new park we have invited the leading Danish landscape designers MASU Planning, a partners of the renowned Japanese architectural studio Kengo Kuma Architects (KKAA), which is already engaged in the Silk Towers project. These two companies have successfully collaborated on numerous successful projects in major cities worldwide.

And now Batumi will also have a new park, designed based on the principles of modern sustainable architecture. It will offer residents and city visitors a place to relax and appreciate the beauty of the Batumi coast. As a city-owned asset, we are confident it will become an integral element of the Batumi urban landscape.” — Alexander Togonidze, Director of Batumi Riviera.

The concept of the park was developed within the framework of the approved Masterplan. The park will be laid on two hectares and the company will cover all costs associated with its development. Commencement of construction works is planned for the end of September.
