Silk Towers Receives Five-Star Award at European Property Awards 2026 – 2027
Silk Towers, a project by Silk Development, has received a five-star award in the Best Mixed Use Development Georgia category at the European Property Awards 2026 – 2027.
The European Property Awards is the European edition of the International Property Awards, which has been held since 1993. Projects are assessed by a jury of more than 100 independent experts. A five-star award is the highest rating in a national category.
Silk Towers is under development on the first coastline of Old Batumi, next to the Alphabetic Tower and the Ali and Nino statue. The master plan for the site, which covers nearly 10 hectares, was designed by Japanese architect Kengo Kuma and his studio, Kengo Kuma & Associates, who was invited by Silk Development to work on the project. The project marks the studio’s first collaboration in the region.
Plans include investment apartments, hotels, a casino, a yacht club and wellness facilities. The first phase – a two-hectare municipal park designed in collaboration with Denmark-based MASU Planning – has been transferred to the city and is open to visitors.
“The 5-star rating awarded to “Silk Towers” at the European Property Awards stands as clear testament to Silk Development’s high standards and quality-driven approach. We are confident that this project will further solidify the city of Batumi’s position on the international tourism and investment map, marking a crucial milestone in its future development.” said Mamuka Shurgaia, CEO of Silk Development.
